Saved from a family of mad Rippers, eighteen-year-old Jessa Bright is looking forward to her life calming down. But her fallen angel boyfriend Adriel Graystone is only seeing the disasters that lay in wait for a relationship between an immortal and a mortal. When he breaks up with Jessa and leaves town, she finds solace in her deepening friendship with Zakia Cooper. Although he has been infected with the zombie virus, his medication keeps him from degenerating to a wild state.
But not all zombies have access to this medication, and some of them have made their way to Spooner, California. A series of bloody attacks begins on everyone that Jessa holds dear, culminating in the disappearance of Adriel’s younger brother Cadmon and zombies storming into Jessa’s own house. These can’t be random occurrences, but the truth is more terrifying than she could ever imagine.
